A Northern Lights Dream Come True

A Northern Lights Dream Come True

By Evelyn Harper
I never thought I would see the Northern Lights in my lifetime, but my journey to the Yukon proved otherwise. On our first night in the Arctic wilderness, the sky came alive with waves of green and purple light. Standing there in the freezing air, I felt a profound sense of awe and connection to the universe. Celestine, our guide, made the experience even more special by sharing the myths and legends surrounding the aurora borealis, making us feel part of something ancient and magical.

The days were filled with thrilling activities: dog sledding through pristine snow-covered trails, learning to build a snow shelter, and spotting wildlife like foxes and caribou. The cozy cabin we stayed in had a roaring fireplace, hot chocolate on demand, and the kind of warmth that only comes from being surrounded by nature. I came home not just with photos but with a newfound respect for the wild beauty of Canada’s North and the people who call it home.
