Charming Streets and Timeless Stories

Charming Streets and Timeless Stories

By Luis Martinez
I’ve always had a fascination with history, so visiting Quebec City felt like a dream come true. Walking through the cobblestone streets of Old Quebec was like stepping back in time. Amara, our guide, had a knack for storytelling that brought the city’s past to life. She took us to the iconic Château Frontenac, explained its role in history, and even pointed out filming locations from famous movies.

We visited quaint cafes where I tried poutine and maple-infused treats, explored art galleries filled with local talent, and attended a small folk music festival in a hidden courtyard. One afternoon, we wandered along the Dufferin Terrace, overlooking the St. Lawrence River, and watched as ships passed by. Amara’s passion for the city was contagious, and by the end of the trip, I felt as though I had discovered a new home away from home.
